The Summer Legal Intern Program is a 10 week, full-time program which runs May
through August and is designed for students currently enrolled in law school. Interns have
opportunities to assist with legal research and writing, observe legal proceedings, attend
meetings, and participate in a variety of activities in the department. Interns are assigned
to a specific bureau within the office. Positions are unpaid, however, many students are
eligible to receive course credit or scholarships from their respective law school.
Students interested in applying for the Summer Legal Intern Program are asked to submit
a résumé, writing sample, list of references and cover letter stating areas of interest,
preference of bureau (i.e. – Criminal, Civil, Environmental, Consumer, Transportation and
Construction or Charitable) and availability to Sean Locke, Legal Intern Coordinator, by
email to [email protected].
Each bureau will notify you directly if you are selected for an interview. Interviews occur
on a rolling basis until the available positions are filled.
All applicants will be subject to a background investigation
