volunteer positions at the Warner House can be tailored to suit your interests and abilities, but help is usually needed in the following areas:
gardening
archaeology
office work
visitor services (greeters)
Volunteering is a great way for members to spend a few hours catching up on what is new and re-experiencing what is endearingly unique at the Warner House.
Currently, the Warner House seeks greeters. Primary duties of the greeter include welcoming visitors into the museum, answering general questions about the house and/or the neighborhood, and offering a brief overview about the Warner House and its collection. The greeter may also assist with admission duties. The greeter does not give full tours. One of our fabulous guides will give the full tour; however, if a tour is in progress, the greeter is the first contact for new visitors and may be required to show the front rooms. Additionally, the house manager may provide projects and tasks for the greeter in other areas such as the office or gift shop.
Whether you are able to greet once a week, a month or even seasonally—you are supporting the Warner House and its mission. Training will be provided for all volunteer positions.
